WHO CARES?

Who cares for your soul?

Oh, I know Jesus does because the Bible tells us of His love and compassion for us. But, I'm not talking about Him. I'm talking about your circle of family members, friends and acquaintances.

Who cares?

One of the most sobering thoughts I have is that most people have no one to care for their soul. It's true!

Most people in the world do not have a living human being who has any concern for them as to whether they will spend eternity in heaven or hell. It seems incompatible with the miracle of life that few are concerned about eternity.

In our lust for diversity, people have embraced every sort of religion the human mind (mostly influenced by the devil) can conceive. Except for Christianity, all of them reject Jesus and His saving grace. It's ironic (demonic) that the only source for our soul's salvation is jettisoned into the darkened abyss of pluralism and diversity.

The Israelites practiced that same sort of spiritual suicide and it always brought them death and destruction.

In the 24th Chapter of Joshua, he makes an appeal to the people to return to God and faithfully serve Him.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

When I read this scripture I thought about how fortunate the Israelites were that someone actually cared about their spiritual condition. Joshua cared enough to call them to repentance.

Do you have anyone who cares that much for you? Someone who actually talks to you about your spiritual needs?

If so, you are very blessed. I encourage you to understand how fortunate you are that a family member, friend or stranger cares where you will spend eternity. You ought to hug that person and thank them for caring. (You'll probably need to explain the reason for the hug – most soul caring people are not accustomed to expressions of appreciation!!)

I pray the Lord blesses you today.

Warmly, in His love and life,

Roland Scroggins
