CHRIST IN YOU
I'm so glad for the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The reality that we can repent of our sins and be forgiven by God; that we receive eternal life by accepting Jesus as our Savior; and that God has a home in heaven for us if we remain faithful, is the best news anyone could ever receive!
We live in a bad news world. Very evil people are doing very evil things. Cults, false religions, the spread of STD's, homosexual activism, political corruption, and a host of other destructive behaviors and beliefs has our world reeling under the spirit of Anti-Christ.
Yet, it is in this very world that the words of Jesus has eternal significance. Mat 5:14 -" Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid."
He did not say people would appreciate the light you give - just that it could not be hidden. In other words, you may be insignificant but the light (His life in you) is unstoppable. You don't have the power to make anyone stop their sinning or change their lifestyle. You do have the power to let your light shine!
What is your light? Basically, it is the Gospel of Jesus lived out in your life. Your testimony is not only what He has done for you, it is also what He will do for others. That's the light!
So, in this bad news world, don't hesitate to shine out the good news: Jesus is Lord. He forgives sin and redeems lives. He alone makes you acceptable to the Father. I pray the Lord blesses you today. Warmly, in His love and life, Roland Scroggins © 2006
